Best Day Trips from Seattle
Seattle is such a vibrant city, but there are plenty of great day trips to take advantage of. Having lived here for years as a Chinese American, I want to share some personal favorites for weekend getaways.
1. Vancouver
Just about a two-hour drive north, Vancouver is perfect for a relaxed weekend. You can take I-5 straight there or opt for the Amtrak train.
I love strolling through Stanley Park, especially in the fall when the leaves change colors—it's absolutely stunning.
2. Mount Rainier National Park
Mount Rainier is a symbol of Washington State and is about a two-hour drive from the city. The park offers countless hiking and photography opportunities.
Be sure to bring water and snacks; the views along the way are worth stopping for pictures!
3. Olympic National Park
About a two-hour drive from Seattle, you can also reach it via ferry. This park is a paradise for nature lovers.
I particularly love Rialto Beach, where the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks is incredibly soothing.
4. Snoqualmie Falls
This stunning destination is only about a 30-minute drive from Seattle, perfect for a quick trip.
The photos you take here are always a hit with friends, especially in the morning mist that adds a magical touch.
