The Joy of Road Trips from Denver
Having lived in Denver for a few years, I can confidently say that the outskirts of this city offer endless opportunities for road trips. Whether you’re looking to enjoy some peace and quiet in the mountains or are in the mood for family-friendly adventures, Denver is a fantastic launching point. Today, I want to share some of my favorite road trip routes.
1. Red Rocks Park and Golden
This route is about a 35-minute drive from downtown Denver, taking I-70 West. The natural beauty of Red Rocks Park is simply breathtaking. Not only does it have stunning red rock formations, but there are also plenty of hiking trails available.
After heading to the charming town of Golden, you can visit Coors Brewery to learn about the brewing process and enjoy some free tastings. The beer and snacks here are great, making it a perfect spot for family gatherings. Plus, Golden has a rich history, making it worth exploring.
2. Boulder
A drive to Boulder from Denver takes about 40 minutes. This place is like a little piece of heaven, especially for outdoor enthusiasts.
3. Crystal Lake
For a more adventurous trip, consider driving to Crystal Lake, which is about 1.5 hours away. The scenery by the lake is incredibly beautiful, especially in the fall.
