The dormitory at New London Mitchell College in Connecticut is recruiting full-time residential parents (10-month contract, students arrive at the dormitory in mid-August and leave in mid-June each year). This position requires independent management of daily dormitory operations and student care (only part-time RAs assist with some night work). Working hours include day, evening and weekends. Establish a warm, respectful and caring residence hall environment Provide informal guidance and support for international students as they adjust to life in the United States Enforce residence hall rules and regulations, foster good behavior and community values Transport students to and from school and extracurricular activities daily (using a 15-passenger school bus) Plan and organize regular activities and team-building activities (on and off campus) Ensure overnight supervision schedules and coordinate duty schedules with part-time RAs Stay available during non-school hours to respond to emergencies Maintain communication and coordination with private school and corporate staff Manage basic scheduling, meal arrangements (if needed) and parent communication. Fluency in English is required, Mandarin is preferred. Must hold a valid driver's license and good driving record, and be able to drive a 15-seat school bus. Have experience in youth work, housing management, education or nursing. Work needs to be organized, reliable, and able to manage dormitories independently. Have good communication and interpersonal skills. Background in education, psychological counseling, social work or youth projects is preferred. CPR/first aid certificate is required (or willing to train to obtain it).
