Summer Camps in Atlanta's Chinese Community
Living in Atlanta for a few years now, I’ve come to realize just how many summer activities are available for kids. As a Chinese family, we especially care about finding summer camps that are not only fun but also educational.
Language Camps
There are several great language camps in Atlanta. One of my favorites is the **Washington Language School** located in Duluth. The weekly fee ranges from $200 to $300. The teachers here are primarily native Chinese speakers, making it an excellent fit for kids looking to improve their Chinese skills.
STEM Camps
Another recommendation is the **STEM Exploration Camp** in Buckhead. It costs around $250 to $400 per week. These camps offer courses in science, technology, engineering, and math, allowing kids to learn while having fun. This is one of my kid's favorite spots! The hands-on experiments and projects keep them engaged and excited.
Cultural Activities
In addition to summer camps, Atlanta hosts many activities related to Chinese culture. For example, the annual **Atlanta International Film Festival** every summer is a fantastic opportunity to showcase Chinese culture. Kids can watch works by many Chinese directors and actors, which enhances their cultural identity.
Community Events
Regular community events take place in **Chamblee** and **Duluth**, including free Chinese storytelling sessions and craft-making activities. These are usually free and great for the whole family to participate in.
How to Choose the Right Camp
When selecting a summer camp, I recommend considering a few key factors:
